QUALITY AFFF is a
synthetic based foam compound mixed with addition of
fluorotensides possessing the property to create the film of
water solution that floats on top of non-polar flammable
liquids. |
| WHY
'AFFF ' FOAMS ARE DIFFERENT FROM OTHER TYPES ? |
|
AFFF
Foam can extinguish a flammable liquid fire in less than the
time of conventional foams & keep it
extinguished. The foam spreads over the surface of burning
fuel forming a blanket in the same manner as conventional
foams. More important, an aqueous solution drains from the
foam bubbles and forms a vapours sealing film. This film
floats on the fuel surface. This film is tough and
persistent and suppresses volatile vapours. In
addition, it has reforming, self-sealing action which prevents
reflash should the foam be disturbed. QUALITY 'AFFF' also
takes the fire hazard out of fuel spills because it seals and
secures non-ignited areas and prevents ignition. The
ability to form vapor seal over flammable liquids permits
AFFF to extend its performance well beyond that of ordinary
foam. This performance is important in situation where
there is limited or no access. The vapor sealing film
flows with the fuel and secures as it goes.

| Application |
: |
"
The Choice of every industry at risk " |
|
|
It
can be used either with fresh, brackish or sea water. AFFF concentrate is available for use at 6%, 3% ! 1%
concentrations, and can be used with all conventional foam
equipments. |
|
|
In
addition its unique properties make it suitable for use in : |
|
|
Water
fog / spray nozzle and monitors, deluge sprinklers and spray
systems, closed head sprinklers, sub surface injection (
Storage tanks ), hose reel installation. Existing vehicles
and systems can be simply converted or refitted to take
advantage of the unique AFFF benefits. |
|
|
Apart
from its use as a first aid agent in those high risk situations
such as aircrash fires, where quick fire attack and control are
essential to protect life
or to prevent ignition of larger fire,
AFFF also proves its effectiveness in the following risk areas. |
