Conforms
to IS : 4989-Part-3, ISI marked, TAC Approved
DIFR Tested. |
| COMPOSITION |
: |
It
is specially formulated by combining selected fluorotensides
with a protein base. |
| APPLICATION |
: |
This
produces a foam with aqueous film forming characteristics
equivalent to AFFF foaming liquids and with same heat resistance
as conventional protein foam liquids.
Its foam is compatible with dry chemical powders. It has
increased extinguishment ability and enhanced fluidity,
assures better burnback resistance, sealability and resists
hydrocarbon saturation.
Because it is highly resistant to fuel contamination, it has the
ability to shed the hydrocarbon which would cause the other
types of foam to become combustible or
break down.
Consequently fluoroprotein foam is used
where foam might be
plunged into the hydrocarbon fuels
or where foam is injected
below the fuel surface.
Hence fluoroprotein foam is a right choice for storage tank
farms protection, oil jetties, refineries and off-shore oil
platform.
Recommended rate of application for hydrocarbon fires is 2 - 5
LPM / Sq. Mtr.
|
| INDUCTION |
: |
To
obtain optimum foaming it is recommended that an induction of
foam compound is 3 to 4 %
For long throw equipment and for adhesive foam, a higher rate of
5-6 % foam induction is recommended.
|
| EXPANSION |
: |
Depending
on type of equipment, water pressure and induction, the
expansion rate varies between 6 - 10. |
| COMPATIBILITY |
: |
Fluoroprotein
foam is compatible in emergency use with other equivalent ISI
marked Fluoroprotein / Protein base foam compound, but they must
not be mixed together in storage containers.
|
| STORAGE |
: |
Fluoroprotein
foam is to be stored in original sealed containers, or in tanks
suitable for storage of Fluoroprotein foam compounds with temp
range - 50C to + 500C.
